CAD Drafting Services concept website — landing page for a drafting outsourcing firm with a service breakdown, industries served, a worldwide-coverage section and a quote request

The problem

CAD drafting is bought as a commodity — outsourced by the drawing, chosen on turnaround and rate. Every firm's site says the same six things, so a buyer has no reason to pick one over a cheaper one.

The solution

A site that argues for precision as the thing being bought: a dedicated-extension-of-your-team framing rather than an offshore-vendor one, a named service breakdown, the software and industries stated plainly, and every path leading to one low-commitment step — a free quote.

The result

A concept explored end to end: hero, service breakdown, industries served, a worldwide-coverage section, the quote request and client proof. Self-initiated design work, not a client engagement.

01

Overview

CAD Drafting Services is a self-initiated concept for a drafting outsourcing firm — 2D drafting, 3D modelling and CAD conversion for architects, engineers and contractors. The site carries the full offer: services, industries, process and a quote request.

02

Context

Design work I started for myself, to think through a category sold almost entirely on rate and turnaround. Nothing here was built for a client, and the firm in it is not real.

03

Challenge

Drafting is invisible work. A buyer cannot judge the drawings before commissioning them, so they fall back on the two things they can compare — price and speed. A site that competes only on those is in a race to the bottom.

04

Approach

Lead with the relationship rather than the transaction: a dedicated extension of your team. State the services as a specific, named set instead of “all CAD work”. Name the software and the industries, because a technical buyer looks for them and a vague answer ends the conversation. Keep one conversion — the free quote — and make every section a reason to take that step: the accuracy claim, the years in the work, the time-zone coverage, and client feedback placed where hesitation happens.

05

What I did

  • 01Positioning and message hierarchy for a commodity category
  • 02Site structure across services, industries, process and contact
  • 03Visual design: a warm neutral base, one rust accent, technical-drawing motifs
  • 04Service, industry and testimonial card patterns
  • 05A single quote-request conversion path, repeated at the points of decision

Concept

Not shipped.
Worth showing.

This is self-initiated design work rather than a client engagement — a product category taken apart properly, end to end, because it was worth understanding. If it is close to something you are building, that is a good conversation to have.
