Tanaya
A gynaecology app that answers the question people will not ask aloud.

The problem
The questions this app exists to answer are the ones people are least willing to ask a person. That makes onboarding — which asks for height, weight, blood group, cycle history and city — the single most fragile part of the product.
The solution
Health FAQs are browsable before any account exists, so the app proves its usefulness before it asks for anything. Registration is split across two screens rather than one long form, with the data-protection statement placed at the field that triggers the worry, not in a policy nobody opens.
The result
Live on Google Play with a 4.9★ rating across 34 reviews — the highest-rated product in this portfolio.
01
Overview
Tanaya is a smart gynaecology app: menstrual and pregnancy tracking, a symptom and mood log, a cycle calendar, curated health FAQs across menstrual health, STDs, pregnancy and post-partum care, and an AI assistant for personalised questions.
02
Context
Health apps in this category carry a specific weight. The subject is private, sometimes stigmatised, and the information has consequences. The interface has to feel clinical enough to trust and warm enough to open.
03
Challenge
Two failure modes sit on either side. Too medical and it reads as a hospital form; too soft and it reads as unqualified. And the product's most useful features all sit behind a registration flow that asks for genuinely sensitive information.
04
Approach
Warmth in the palette and voice, precision in the structure. Browsing comes before signing up: the FAQ library is open, so the app earns the account rather than demanding it. Registration is split in two, and the encryption statement sits directly against the fields that cause hesitation. Tracking uses a calendar people already understand rather than a novel metaphor that has to be learned.

What I did
- 01UX flows: onboarding, registration, tracking, FAQ library, AI assistant
- 02Interface design across the app's core screens
- 03A palette and type system that is warm without being unserious
- 04Store listing design — screenshots, feature graphic and listing narrative
- 05Consent, privacy and data-sensitivity treatment in the sign-up flow
Live
See it working.
This project is live. The best version of any case study is the product itself.
